Twenty years ago, Gold Coast resident Patrik Gennari, opened Café Opera and since then has established eight highly successful local restaurants on the Gold Coast. It can’t be argued that The Gennari Group is one of the most successful restaurant groups on the Gold Coast.

 

One of The Gennari Group’s greatest restaurant successes is the iconic Koi, situated right in the heart of Broadbeach.  This restaurant set the benchmark for sophisticated yet casual dining 17 years ago and is still one of the busiest restaurants in Broadbeach. In March 2020 it underwent a $1.3 million reno, showcasing a new look, menu and branding!

In 2008, the stylish and chic Glass Dining, located by the water at Marina Mirage, was added to The Gennari Group’s impressive portfolio. With stunning views over the marina, a world-class fit-out and award-winning spectacular cuisine, Glass Dining epitomizes elegance and sophistication. With internationally renowned Executive Chefs, who adapt the menu with the change of seasons, and an assemblage of sassy, young staff providing a seamless dining experience. Glass Restaurant won the 2017 Best Contemporary Formal Australian Restaurant in Queensland and NT and went on to win bronze at the Nationals.

In 2016, Patrik Gennari brought his vision of a Tap and Grill House in Broadbeach to life and created The Loose Moose. With a huge menu specialising in Canadian tastes and possibly the best restaurant fit-out on the Gold Coast, The Loose Moose is more like an experience than a restaurant. 

In 2017, the prestigious Roosevelt Lounge made its grand debut next to the renowned Loose Moose, establishing itself as an ultra-exclusive lounge bar. This intimate and opulent setting exudes elegance and offers a sumptuous dining experience with a unique twist. Designed for the discerning and well-heeled connoisseurs, this lavish bar provides an upscale late-night haven for those seeking sophistication and refinement.

In the face of the COVID pandemic, The Gennari Group demonstrated its unwavering commitment to growth, expanding its portfolio in September 2020 with the addition of Maggie Choo, an exquisite Asian Fusion restaurant just moments away from its sister establishments: The Loose Moose, Roosevelt Lounge, and Koi.

Maggie Choo has swiftly earned its reputation as the most "Instagram-worthy" destination on the Gold Coast, thanks to its vibrant pink hues and a breathtaking ceiling adorned with millions of cherry blossoms and lanterns. Not only is the ambiance stunning, but the culinary offerings have garnered resounding praise, solidifying Maggie Choo as a valuable and exciting addition to the Gold Coast's thriving dining scene.

“It’s exhilarating and exhausting establishing restaurant concepts, but it is also deeply satisfying seeing our staff family flourish during the challenges as we expand our portfolio,” says Patrik.

In January 2022, La Luna Dining opened - located at the Marina Mirage besides Glass Dining - a venue where Mykonos luxury meets bohemian heaven, a perfect combination of sophistication and playfulness with stylish interior that oozes classic Mediterranean vibes meets coastal chic. The La Luna experience starts well before you pull up a chair —  a balmy ocean breeze flows over you, while your eyes are instinctively drawn to the luxurious superyachts parked mere metres away, as the setting sun frames this obnoxiously gorgeous image. 

The jewel of the group and Patrik's dream project, which involved two years of planning officially opened in October 2022: La Luna Beach Club, Australia's floating Beach Club, bringing a taste of Mykonos and Monaco to the Gold Coast. A Mediterranean-inspired pool with sun lounges, day beds & cabanas matched with million-dollar views out over the glistening marina. On weekdays, it's a peaceful hideaway from the city's hustle & bustle, over the weekends, the beach club transforms into a celebration of leisure and living a life more carefree.

The onsite restaurant MĀRE offers a curated menu of modern Italian and Mediterranean bites that showcase clean, light flavours and prime-quality seafood. The Mediterranean-inspired cuisine is elevated in the hands of our chefs, with rich flavours accentuated by the soothing sounds of the sea and a dash of golden sunshine. Enjoy breezy long lunches & sunset dinners set amongst luxurious superyachts and feel like you woke up on a Greek island.
